INTRODUCTION
There is a need to know the Sure and Solid Foundation and His importance in the life of believers
WHO IS THE SURE AND SOLID FOUNDATION?
The Lord Jesus Christ is the Surest and most Solid Foundation. There can never be any other foundation laid by any man except Jesus Christ. He is the Chief Corner Stone Eph. 2: 20. Foolish believers have often rejected this foundation with very grievous consequences – matt. 21: 47; Acts. 4:11, but wise believers build their faith on Him.
HOW IS HE THE SURE AND SOLID FOUNDATION?
i. He is the pioneer, the Alpha and the genesis of all things. Nothing was
created outside Him. Jn 1: 1-5
ii. He can withstand all storms and weather:
- Physical storms e.g. Job 19: 25-26
- Marital storms e.g. Hannah. 1 Sam 1:6
- Vocational storms e.g. Simeon Peter. Lk 5: 4-9; Ps. 119:89
- Ministerial storms/trials or persecutions. Rom. 8: 35-39; Acts. 4: 1-12
- Spiritual Storms e.g. Lazarus. Jn. 11: 25-44
- Storms of false doctrines. 1 Tim. 4: 1-6
iii. In His resilience, He will weather all attacks of the enemy. He is an embodiment of all power. Matt. 28: 18; Eph. 6: 12-13; 14-18.
iv. He gives the needed strength and support to believers. Phil. 4: 13.
v. He manifests strength in quietness. Isa. 30:15
vi. He bears all forms of burdens or weights. 1 Pet. 5:7
vii. He is the only Solid Rock on which our hope is built. Heb. 12: 1-2; Isa. 3:10; 1 Cor. 1:30
CONCLUSION
Jesus Christ is available to whosoever will be willing to make Him his or her sure and solid foundation. The way there is the way of the cross. Phil. 2: 1-11; Jn. 14:6
