TEXTS:
Romans 10: 8-13; Joshua 1:8.
INTRODUCTION
It is obvious that the reason for having God’s word in your mouth and meditating on it is to provoke you into obedience, which in turn will bring prosperity and success. Any word of God you receive which is not put into practice or obeyed will not work in your life – josh.1:8.
THE WORD OF GOD IN YOUR MOUTH
That the word shall not depart from your mouth means that your heart must be so filled with the word of God that each time you open your mouth to speak, God’s word will continue to spill out for “…out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.. “Matt. 12:34b.
If the word is in your mouth, it will:
Purge your tongue from filthy conversations, gossips, backbiting, lies and immoral comments.
Back up everything you say with power.
Make you teach God’s word convincingly and with authority.
The word shall not depart from your mouth also means that you will be so clean and close to the Holy Spirit that He will be free to speak through you anytime He wants. This means you will be His voice to the church and the world. The more the Holy Spirit speaks through your mouth, the more circumcised your tongue becomes and the more like God you become.
HOW CAN HIS WORD BE IN YOUR MOUTH?
