TEXTS: Psalm 57: 7-9

INTRODUCTION
Love is a question of the heart –Ps 57:7. What will show that two people (God and you) are in love will be our focus today.

EVIDENCES THAT GENUINE LOVE EXISTS BETWEEN TWO LOVERS: GOD AND DAVID AS AN EXAMPLE:

They sing praises of each other –Psalm 89: 1, Acts 13: 22.
They constantly exchange gifts – Ps. 115: 12-14. David said, “God has given me so much, what am I going to give Him in return.” 1Kings 3: 3-14
They hold regular discussions- 1 Thess. 5:17. Prayer becomes hard if it is not done out of love. You ask all the time and do not praise Him. When you are truly in love with God you also read the Bible, which is His letter to you – Ps 1:1-3.
They defend each other – Ps. 27: 1-6
They trust each other and so find it easy to forgive one another – Ps. 103: 1-5. 1 Sam. 30: 1-6; Job 13:15
They pay themselves regular visits – Ps. 122:5; Ps. 16:11
Sooner or later they will end up dwelling together – Gen 5:22, 24; Ps. 23:6; Jn. 14:1-3

CONCLUSION
If you are in love with God and God is in love with you, you will sing praises of each other, exchange gifts, hold regular discussions, defend each other, pay regular visits to each other and sooner or later you will end up dwelling together. Are you in love with God.
