RESTITUTION
TEXTS: Luke19:1-10

INTRODUCTION
Restitution is commanded by God to enable us follow peace with all men-prov.6:31; Ezek.33:15.lt is an act of putting right what has been wrongly taken. Lt is repairing what has been deliberately damaged.  It goes hand in hand with salvation. Lk.19:1-10

SOME AREAS WHERE RESTITUTION IS REQUIRED
There are several areas where we have offended for which restitution is required

• lf you have stolen whether  from man or God ,you have to make restitution of what you have stolen
• Have you wrongly filled you tax forms in a bid to reduce you tax? lf you have defrauded the government, you need to make restitution.
• Many of us took what belonged to our employers and converted them for our own use.
• Some borrow certain things from friends or libraries but never return them.
• lf you have wrongly used your tongue against the anointed of God
• If you have falsified records, overstating or understating you church  attendance, keeping deck offering back offerings and tithes that should be remitted to the head quarters.

As a true child of God, you need to scrutinize all your belongings and return everything that has been fraudulently or mistakenly kept in your custody back to the rightful owners.
THE BLESSINGS OF RESTITUTION AND DANGERS IN DISOBEDIENCE

• The blessings of restitution include:
• Victory. Joshua restituted and  had victory over Ai- Jos.7
• Open heavens. Restoring `God’s tithes would lead to open heavens. Mal.3: 8-11
• Other blessings are divine healings, blessings, promotion, divine security and protection
• Heavenly home will be the reward for those who restituted.

     The dangers in disobedience [failure to restitute]

• A Chan with his family died for failure to restitute. José .7.
• God would Judge unrepentant sinners who fail to make restitution. Heb.9:27.    

CONCLUSION
If it is not yours, return it. Ask God for wisdom to make restitution and see the peace of mind that would follow
